Modern Mexico is a Land of Diversity
Mexico is much more than merely the United States' southern neighbor, with the lovely Gulf Coast on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, historic Aztec temples and glittering modern structures.
Mexico is still a nation of deserts and hilly plateaus today; the Teotihuacan volcano near Mexico City is echoed by neighboring pyramids all the way down to the Yucatan Peninsula's tropical beauty. It is, however, one of the world's most modern cities. Mexico's poverty rate has dropped by more than a third in recent years, and the country's increasing commercial relations with other nations are rapidly modernizing the country and propelling closer in significance to it's neighbor the United States.
If you opt to vacation in Mexico, you may expect to discover all of the amenities that you are accustomed to back home. Today you don't have to be concerned about "drinking the water." Though the cities are congested and traffic can be alien, the cultures of the United States and Mexico have been exchanged for so long that you will find the people to be just different enough to be interesting. While the United States appears to be bored with itself in certain ways, Mexico is the polar opposite: lively, young, vivid, and colorful. Mexico also features some of the world's most gorgeous beaches.
The Land's End in Baja California
One would suppose that Baja California was developed out with Cabo San Lucas and Tijuana. Surprisingly, most Mexicans regard it in the same way that Americans regard Alaska: as a remote frontier, untamed and beautiful. Baja, on the other hand, is unique in many ways. It boasts stunning desert plains that are hemmed in by a rugged mountain range. Hundreds of miles of unspoiled, undeveloped beach and coastline stretch along the coast, dotted with lush semi-tropical areas. Tourists can see endangered California Gray Whales at Laguna San Ignacio as they move here to give birth and raise their young.
For those who aren't interested in ecotourism, many of Baja's most frequented and more remote beaches are ideal for baking one's body to the perfect shade of brown, or for relaxing at one of the area's superb hotels. Beach houses and vacation rentals, on the other hand, are a fantastic opportunity to spend a peaceful, secluded vacation in an undeniably tropical paradise.
The Nightlife in Cancun
However, your ideal Mexico trip can entail discovering the ideal cantina in which to relax and listen to music while admiring the country's other attractions. Cancun is the ideal location. It appears placid during the day, with its turquoise waters and white beaches, but at night, it comes alive with the energy and vibrancy of a young city; Cancun is just 50 years old, in contrast to the Mayan ruins nearby inland on the Yucatan Peninsula. Cancun has a lot to offer its guests, whether they enjoy looking at antique stones or tanned bodies.
Mexico is considerably more than its far northwest and far southeast regions. Between Cancun and Cabo are thousands of miles of adventure, curiosity, and breathtaking scenery. But if you don't travel there, you'll never get to see it!
