What is the Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Society?
Crown & Anchor is the name of Royal Caribbean's cruise guests' loyalty program. Passengers earn program points with each cruise they take. The more points you earn, the higher your status within Crown & Anchor. If you reach a certain level of status, you will be eligible for a variety of freebies, rewards, and benefits. Perks can range from special discounts and rates on cruises to invitations to member-only events, free drinks, free cruises, and more.
Why Should I Participate in the Program? How Do I Enroll?
To be honest, there is no reason not to join Crown & Anchor. Enrollment is free, and you can earn a variety of benefits without doing anything extra. After all, if you're going to take a cruise anyway, you might as well be rewarded for it. You don't even have to do anything if you want to sign up. After their first Royal Caribbean cruise, new U.S. guests are automatically enrolled. If you have previously sailed on Royal Caribbean but are not a member, you can contact the company at 1-800-526-9723 (outside the United States/Canada: 541-285-9723). You can also sign up by visiting the Loyalty Ambassador on your cruise. Once onboard, simply ask Guest Services for the location.
How Do I Accumulate Points?
Earning points toward status is extremely simple. All you need to do is go on cruises. Every night sailed earns a member one point. So, if you go on a seven-night cruise, you get seven points. Three points are awarded for a three-night trip. There is one important distinction to be aware of: if you sail in suite accommodations, you will earn double points. So, if you book a suite on a week-long cruise, you'll earn 14 points rather than just seven. Furthermore, we have seen Royal Caribbean promotions from time to time that award double points for any sailing as an incentive to book.
Do Points Expire, or Does Your Status Level Drop?
No. There is no mention of points expiring or losing status as a result of not sailing with the cruise line for an extended period of time. In fact, we have points from previous cruises dating back nearly a decade. Obviously, accumulating enough points to achieve higher status levels can take years. Having expiring points would make this extremely difficult. Fortunately, it is not something that members need to be concerned about.
What Are the Different Levels of Status in the Crown & Anchor Society?
Crown & Anchor consists of six levels in total. Each level brings with it more advantages. All members begin at the Gold level, with the Pinnacle Club being the highest rank.
• Gold (3 Points): The first level of the Crown & Anchor program, awarded after three nights of sailing.
• Platinum (30 Points): Sail for 30 nights — or 15 in a suite — to earn Platinum status on the ship.
• Emerald (55 Points): It takes 55 points to achieve Emerald status, which equates to nearly two months on the ship in a standard cabin.
• Diamond (80 Points): At 80 points, you achieve Diamond status, which is where the benefits really start to add up.
• Diamond Plus (175 Points): Spend nearly six months on a Royal Caribbean ship and you'll be able to earn Diamond Plus. You can get early access to theaters, personalized gifts, and other benefits here.
• Pinnacle Club (700 Points): The Pinnacle Club is the highest level in the Crown & Anchor Society. This level is attained in "only" about two years of sailing in a balcony cabin.
What Are the Advantages of the Crown & Anchor Society?
There are some benefits that come with your status, no matter what level you reach. Naturally, the higher your level, the more perks and rewards you will receive. Members at the Diamond level and above, for example, now receive drink vouchers for daily drinks for up to $13 at bars throughout the ship. Members of the Pinnacle Club are given certificates for free cruises. Additionally, Platinum level and higher receive robes to use on the ship.
The benefits are listed below by status level. Keep in mind that benefits can change at any time.
Do I Get Discounted Fares as a Member?
Yes. "Crown & Anchor Exclusive Rates" for cruises are one of the benefits listed. This is true for all members, from Gold to Pinnacle Club. This does not imply that you will receive a discount on every cruise. According to the terms and conditions, it only applies to "specific ship and sail dates." Furthermore, members at the Platinum level and above can receive discounts on balcony and suite cabins as a perk of membership.
What if I gain a new status while on a cruise?
Assume you have 27 Crown & Anchor Society points and a seven-day sailing booked. You'll have 34 points at the end of the trip, putting you in the Platinum category. How does that affect your benefits and status? Do you get them in the middle of the trip? According to Royal Caribbean, "next tier benefits will be applied on the following sailing after points status is earned." In other words, on your next sailing, you will only reap the benefits of being in a higher status tier.
Do I Get Points for Cruises I Book?
Have you booked several cruises in the hopes of increasing your status level? This isn't the case. Points are earned with the Crown & Anchor Society after the sailing is completed. "Cruise Points are awarded to the guest whose name is entered into the reservation at the time of booking and who successfully completes the sailing." If you have enough trips booked to be in a higher status but have yet to sail the days, you will not earn points for the trips.
What if I have a previous cruise with no points?
Have you sailed with Royal Caribbean before but the points aren't showing up in your Crown & Anchor membership? In that case, you should contact the cruise line. According to the Royal Caribbean website, "requests to add missing cruise points may be submitted up to 12 months after your sailing's debarkation date." Even if you have a trip from more than a year ago, it never hurts to contact the cruise line and inquire about receiving credit.
How Do I Get in Touch With the Crown & Anchor Society?
Do you have a program-related question? You can get in touch with Royal Caribbean's loyalty program through the following channels:
• Toll-free number (US/Canada): 1-800-526-9723
• Phone (from outside the United States/Canada): 541-285-9723
• Contact: [email protected]
Is Status Extended to Other Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, such as Celebrity?
Royal Caribbean is a sister line to Celebrity Cruises and other cruise lines owned by its parent company.
One nice benefit is that your status can be transferred to other cruise lines.
As a result, your Royal Caribbean status is transferable to Celebrity. And the Celebrity status can be transferred to Royal. You should contact the cruise line for more information on how to obtain your status. It should be noted that points earned on Celebrity will not transfer to Royal Caribbean. So, if you have 40 points on Royal Caribbean and go on a Celebrity cruise for a week, you will not have 47 points on Royal Caribbean after the trip.
